A constructed language or conlang is a language whose phonology, grammar, and/or vocabulary have been consciously devised by an individual or group, instead of having evolved naturally.. Whereas most spoken languages evolve over thousands of years, conlangs are created from scratch. There are numerous reasons for doing this. Some linguists have created languages for use in place of natural languages (most notably, Esperanto). Some linguists create them for use in stories (for instance, Klingon). Some create them simply for pleasure or for educational purposes.

In Shireroth, conlangs serve as part of the long and complex cultures and fictional histories that make up the nation, adding a touch of realism to the nation. Some of these languages, like Written Halluci, are nothing more than a system of disguising English. Others, like Radarasilikan and Yardistani have their own vocabularies and individual grammars and can truly be thought of as languages of their own.
