Baatharz, North Euran (Arabic) meaning "Land of the Renaissance", was a long-standing semi-autonomous emirate within the Kingdom of Babkha. The state was located in the northernmost portion of Eura, occupying much of the central corridor of the continent. Baatharz began its life as the Republic of Bathland, an early ally of Babkha. It was founded by Thomas Mountian around 2000 and was quickly annexed by Babkha, but by 2003 had passed into the hands of Amir Shervanis, who restyled it as Baatharz and established a strong Arabic influence on the country. Baatharz's unique influence was in that it was the only Arabic province in all of Babkha, which was otherwise dominated by Farsi/Persian language and culture. The emirate was also notable in being a holdout of leftist sentiment, being one of the early proponents of liberal reforms to Babkha's monarchy.
