History

The "Gaelen IV" Regiment began in 1607 as a regiment of armoured infantry assigned to the Apollonian Legion and tasked, primarily, with the defence of Shirekeep. It remained, in various states of disorganisation, a part of that legion until it was swept away in the purges and re-organisations that occurred in the wake of the Oustfest Massacre of 1644.

It was re-established in 1658 under the auspices of the Training Directorate of the Corps of Auxiliaries to serve as an opposing force intended to represent an enemy, usually for training purposes in scheduled exercises and snap drills.
