Microwiki Request
So as one of creators of a Shirerothian Conlang (actually two), I get asked for sound samples from time to time. I recorded one for the Wiki, but it won't let me upload .ogg files (I get the error that it is not a valid image file). So, Mr. MiniInfo, could you please fix it so that I can upload the sound bite?

I've been digging around since I first saw this, but I can't find anything on how to enable sound uploads. I'm going to try digging to see if there's a settings file besides LocalSettings.php, but so far I've got jack.
EDIT: Further investigation shows that the Filename Validator uses an array/var/thing called $wgFileExtensions, but I have yet to be able to find where that variable is. I have a suspicion it's somewhere in the database, but so my searches have come up empty.

It seems odd to me that it isn't enabled by default, especially since it says on the upload page that .ogg is one of the things you can upload (or at least the preferred format for sound). Anyhow, I guess let me know if you get it working.

It *is* in LocalSettings.php once you put it in there. Copy it from DefaultSettings.php.osmose1000 wrote:I've been digging around since I first saw this, but I can't find anything on how to enable sound uploads. Well, thanks to the wisdom of Ari, Microwiki now allows the upload of .ogg, .mp3, and .mid sound files, but there will be a warning if files exceed 150k in size. Try to keep filesize down to save space, as any files an admin thinks is too big and not important enough WILL be deleted, and repeated abuse will cause punishment on the account of the abuser.
