Immigration form
Name: Yvain Wintersong
Age: [Old enough to know better]
Gender: Male
Email: [Please don't contact me by email!]
Location: [Please don't come visit me!]
Other Micronational Citizenships: None
Interests: History, art, mythology, fantasy
Previous micronational experience: Lovely, where I was No One Of Import.
How you heard about Shireroth: I used to be a citizen in Lovely, but that was - not very pleasant. I left and started lurking on the Micronations.Net bulletin board and taking in the other communities. Someone sent me a link to a book called Microscope, which had some good historical background and a lot to say about Shireroth. And just a few days later people started talking about Shireroth coming back...so let's give her a try.
Preferred subdivision: Well - which one's the best?

Re: Immigration form
There's no such thing as the best subdivision (although I know a couple of Dukes who would disagree ). Maybe you'd like to start by reading the section on fiefdoms in the updated Guide for the Perplexed .

Damp? You know...

Despite what my Duke says, you probably shouldn't join Kildare or Yardistan, as we have 3+ people each already.
Join Brookshire or Elwynn, they're both looking a little lonely.

The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy
And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).

But Brookshire has only just been reborn, it needs support in its early few months. :P

Re: Immigration form
Thank you for the guide, Ari. Let's see:
Brookshire: Well, I like history. And I like archaeology. And I like religion. I certainly don't have anything against being rich, either. I don't know if I like leadership, that might be a problem. I definitely do like Monty Python references.
Borea-Elwynn: I like culture. I like contemplation. I like don't mind the cold, within reason. But the horrible bloody massacres do turn me off a little.
Kildare: I like long histories, and long and troubled histories are the best kind. I like Ireland. I read through some of the Apollonian history in Microscope but don't remember much.
Yardistan: I like uniqueness. I like traditions and things that are questionable. I like parties, whimsy, and passion, especially whimsy. But I'm not a big fan of war and anarchy.
Straylight: I like technology. I like the sea, especially in the form of tuna fish sandwiches. I don't understand "constructive anarchy" enough to know if I like it. And I'm a little worried by "the dark side of society". If it's darker than Elwynn's horrible bloody massacres or Yardistan's war and anarchy, maybe that's a little too dark.
Because of what Andreas the Wise and benkern say, and the horrible bloody massacres in Elwynn, I think I'll go for Brookshire. I can always change if I don't like it. What do I do as a Brookshirean? (Brookshireite? Brookshireman? Maybe the first thing to do is figure out what to call myself.)

Dukes, you have just been provided feedback. Now go forth to the guide and edit it to your liking so that the next immigrant will find your duchy more interesting!

Also, as a Brookshirian (that's the semi-official unofficial word to call yourself)... well... Maksym just joined a couple of days ago, you might want to ask him about his observations so far, and let Erik and Shyriath fill you in on the rest...

Brookshirerithian.. is what I go with...But my morphology is odd...
btw... I'm your Duke now.. Well... first things first.. we get you a County to rule over... Then.. you can do whatever you want. Make up a culture, a local system of government (despite it only being you).. what kinda people would be in your county... local militia?

How should we call citizens of Kildare... Kildarians... Kilts...?

Welcome to Shireroth, Yvain. It seems your new Duke (and His Imperial Niftiness, the Kaiser) has already greeted you and welcomed you to his Duchy, so you are in good hands indeed. We hope you enjoy your life here in our fair country.
