New Opportunity

Steven has just asked me to join the Republic. At first I told him it was a bit early for April Fool's Day, and just as I was about to tell him "not a fucking chance in hell", I realized this could potentially be a wonderful opportunity for SHINE, if used properly. I told him I'd think about it. I plan to get back to him ASAP (hopefully this evening). What do you think? I could in fact end up being a colossal waste of time. However, it could perhaps help in our goal of puppetizing them if we wanted...Opinions! Now!Oh yeah, and here's the relevant portion of our conversation:Quote:(07:43:59) st3v34: you can have a dual citizenship right?(07:45:36) Delphi Augustus: Me?(07:45:43) st3v34: yes(07:45:50) Delphi Augustus: Can, legally, yes.(07:45:59) st3v34: would you like to join the Republic of Antica.(07:46:00) st3v34: ?(07:46:30) Delphi Augustus: *checks calendar*(07:46:36) Delphi Augustus: A bit early for April Fool's(07:46:44) st3v34: Think about it.(07:46:51) Delphi Augustus: Why?(07:47:17) st3v34: well...because I really want you to join. You add a good conservative element which creates debate.(07:47:50) Delphi Augustus: Steven, if I joined, I'd be chomping at the bit to vote you out of office. You wouldn't want that.(07:48:43) st3v34: haha. It's a republic. Everyone gets an opinion.(07:48:5 Delphi Augustus: Steven, what is it you're really after?(07:49:5 st3v34: It's a snow day and no one is online right now and I woke up to find out if it was a snow day and can't go abck to sleep. I decided, I've been meaning to ask Delphi about this for awhile...Nothign to lose!(07:52:31) Delphi Augustus: Give me a little time to think about it. I hate the idea of dual citizenship to begin with.(07:54:41) st3v34: See...that's one little cultural legacy we inherited from you.(07:54:56) Delphi Augustus: You have dual citizenships allowed, no?(07:57:5 Delphi Augustus: As I was aware(07:58:26) st3v34: well...we have them but we limit them and we wouldn't have them if it weren't for Foghorn.(07:58:32) st3v34: We also have to approve them.(07:58:40) st3v34: The standard is...we never approve them.(07:58:54) st3v34: Our only dual citizens are foghorn and aryez. Aryez...cuz he's just so crazy.(07:58:57) st3v34: we've not allowed a lot.(07:59:06) Delphi Augustus: I wasn't aware you've had so many offers(07:59:27) st3v34: well...one or two.(07:59:35) st3v34: but they set a standard.(08:01:29) Delphi Augustus: Well I'll have to think about it. I'll see if I can get back to you tonight about it.(08:01:34) st3v34: okay(08:01:49) st3v34: thanks. Edité(e)(s) par: Delphi Augustus à: 12/9/05 6:03

This smells like a trap. No way this guy would just invite a hated enemy into his nation like that for, 'a conservative element'. Be carfeull, Steven doesn't seem the brightest himself, but he has some smart friends who might be pulling his strings. There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

Well the thing is, what's the worst that I could be pulled into? I mean, if there were ever a test of my loyalty, I'd without a doubt be a true-blue-Shirerothan. They're not going to get any intel, either, but if they were stupid enough to try, I'd feed them bullshit.Anyone else?

Having an agent would be good inside of the Republic right now, though I'm not sure if it should be you.

I'm talking about political ramifications. I dont know what they could be but I dont like it. There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

Well considering how desperate Steven is right now and the fact that I told him I'd vote him out of office, I'm starting to think perhaps you're right...

He's definately got something to gain out of this, be it trying to turn Delphi against us or conning him into a bad position - Only about two months ago I had to force-feed him the truth that bashing Delphi wasn't going to help anyone. They call it a signature, but no one ever signs their posts...
