Article 1 - Association:
1.1. Hurmu vests in the Imperial Republic of Shireroth, for the duration of this treaty, all title, right and claim to all of Hurmu, including its sovereignty. The territory of Hurmu will as such be integrated into Shireroth.

1.2. Shireroth agrees to enact and keep laws making the lakes of Hurmu and their surrounding lands holy.
Shireroth is obliged by the Treaty of Association and Friendship to enact and keep laws making the lakes of Hurmu and their surrounding lands holy. It could be taken to the Commonwealth Court if it doesn't.

Yes, that's why I introduced the bill. But the holy lands provision, that by the way is very old and originated as an Imperial Decree, is apparently a big problem and bla bla bla...

So we our bound by treaty to enact this. Hurmu as a territory could take it to the CC or to my court. wait.. Hurmu's status in the SC is now in question...

Yes, but the treaty is specific, and Shireroth is a signatory nation. The Court would have jurisdiction.

Fair enough. Either court could handle it.

Yep, depends on where Hurmu or Shireroth would choose to take it.

Hurmu can still amend that treaty, that is no problem. Hurmu would be more than willing to come to some sort of reasonable consensus or at least a resolution that most parties support. This includes, of course, compromises.

The question, though, is what we can do. Hurmu has no intention of forcing things upon Shireroth.

As Valdi of Hurmu, I'm willing to find an alternative.

Just take it to court. It's why we made them.

We could amend the treaty to directly say Shireroth shall keep the lands holy (or something more specific I guess). Mike's been so eager to see some treaties that actually have some significance, and "Hurmu wants it" might reduce the naysaying in the Landsraad...

Just reinterpret the phrase "keep the lands holy" or whatever it was. As long as the two parties agree on the interpretation, everything is okay.
