Lord Mayor of Shirekeep

Post by Malliki Tosha »

I would like us to appoint a Lord Mayor of Shirekeep, tasked with developing the capital of our fair nation. Zie would be the head of the Imperial County, directly subordinate to the Kaiser.

That's an interesting idea, Lord Tosha.

Are there candidates? :document

I would consider someone that is not a baron or a duke, but does have some experience in Shireroth.

Bon, are they the only two candidates? Excellent!
I would like to know something about their plans to rule, and hopefully develop, the Imperial County. :document

May I after the hearing suggest a Landsraad vote on the matter, sir? Since it is the capital that influences the rest of the Republic in culture, tasks and on... it would be prudent to let the Landsraad advise the Kaiser on which candidate he should choose.

I'm not really kind of that idea, as it is the Imperial County we're talking about. That's like a Landsraad which interferes with the appointment of a Duke.

There CAN happen so much, doesn't mean that I allow it.

I would like to put myself forward for candidacy.

I feel that the Lord Mayor of Shirekeep's role would be one of a regent. The Imperial County naturally is very important, but it has not been developed culturally or economically as it should, because the Kaiser is naturally occupied with being Kaiser.

As Lord Mayor, I would use the pre-existing map of Shirekeep and try to bring it further. What corporations or businesses have their headquarters in Shirekeep, for example, and in what district? What sights or curiosities can tourists to our great capitol expect to see as they walk the streets of the Treesian District, for example?

If you want someone creative and interested, please consider Eoin for Lord Mayor.

Not that this question was asked to me, or that I'm even sure I want this job in the first place, but I'd address rebel situation through an extensive campaign of trying my best to ignore the entire situation. It seems unlikely that the Kaiser will give in to your demands (come to think of it, ARE there any demands?) and yet trying to antagonize Dolor further is both not within the powers of the job nor what I consider a good move. This sounds like a situation for the Kaiser or the Duke of Brookshire, possibly both, possibly neither. I would put it in the realm of Stuff Other People Have to Worry About and let it get sorted however its going to get sorted.

May I remind everyone that Maksym is currently designing a very complicated map of our fair capital, or at least I think he is unless he's slacked off since the last time we talked?

I suggest either making Maksym mayor, or giving the Mayor the task of interfacing with Maksym, making sure he stays on schedule, and helping him come up with all the necessary landmarks and arrangements and such.

Jaaa, the map may take a lot longer than I expected as in Ashkenatza we're kind of redeveloping the very framework of the Republic with the Three-Point Plan (Draypintl Bagrif). Also I'm personally a little disillusioned with the future of any cultural work I design for Shireroth- what if some future Kaiser decides they don't like the map? What if it gets lost again?
I'm not sure.

Stop being such a fucking emo Max. You know we like your work here, we just don't stroke your ego all the time. This is the umpteenth time I've heard this from you. I've even inducted you into more things than I care to remember for your cultural work.
