Some ideas...

So, people. I am thinking about what to do about Brookshire. I have a couple of ideas.

1. Abolish the baronies. The Duchy will only be organised into counties and no person shall hold more than one county. Baronies may be created on a case-by-case basis.

2. Abolish the Kehl. The council isn't used anyway, so why not? I can rule by decree only.

3. Rename the duchy. I'm tired of the name "Brookshire". Any good ideas?

4. Institute a duchy tax. All accounts in the duchy shall be taxed once a week. The revenue will go to a specific duchy account to be used at the discretion of the Duke.

5. I'm also thinking about moving the capital to Mortis Mercatoria.

So, what do you think?

I outright object to 1 3 and 5.... well.. outright object to 1. 3 and 5 could be negotiated, though I'm not keen.

It would be nice to kill off the last few Warcraft names here. I know I objected to Elwynn becoming Froyalan, but that's because it was done foolishly and hastily. I suggest something that preserves the name without the obvious plagiarism: for example, changing the spelling to Elwinn or Elluin (pronounced the same). We could change Khaz Modan to Chas Moedan or something, and no one would ever know.

The only problem is Brookshire. Brookshire is Brookshire. No crafty respellings possible there. It would be up to the Brookshirerithians to decide what they wanted to do with that.

I've often considered changing it to Berkshire...(I've seen it in RL... I think it's a stree in Vallejo...)

Berkshire would be weird...because it's a place in England...and also a place in Massachussetts...where WarVoid lives. Also, Berkshire Hathaway is Warren Buffett's investing company.

Yes.. but it sounds close to Brookshire, and the fact it has RL usage make it not seem as much as a WarCraft cop-out.

In my opinion, we should keep Brookshire. It's a lot more generic than 'Elwynn' and 'Khaz Modan' which might do well with a bit of tweaking.

I just searched Brookshire on Google, and got this, among other results. If it's OK for the Texans to plagiarize Warcraft, I'm sure it's fine for us.

What about Hillshire, or Woodshire, or Rivershire, or Rivenshire?
The Hyperboreans call this whole area Rainorikoth (land of Raynor). Maybe something historical along those lines?
Or ERIKSHIRE! Might as well make it official!
