I don't agree with this bill either. The bounties should not be increased. 250 Erbs for becoming a citizen? Come on. The whole point of issuing more money is to devalue the Erb.

The new citizens' Erb would be decreased in real terms, as it's only a four-fold increase compared to the ten-fold increase in total Erb in the system.

That said, however... I don't know why it was seen as necessary to increase new citizens' Erb at all. Especially since the newly-printed Erb is going to sit in the Crown Account for a long time before it trickles out, making an increased level of new citizens' Erb suddenly much bigger as a proportion of the Erb in non-Crown circulation. Kinda does the opposite of what it was supposed to...

I suggest the Duke suggests an amendment to the bill removing the bounty increase.

Your Grace, if I may make a comment - if that's your objection, you're misreading the bill, and ignoring your ex-Duke. The money sitting in the crown account for a long time before it trickles out is exactly the inflation we at the Treasury (and master Scott) want most fervently to avoid. Clause E.3 is exactly so all the new money can hit the streets almost instantly. Normal citizens will end up with between 1500-2500. With that in mind, 250 for a new citizen is the height of cheapness.
