A messenger, dressed in the regalia of Monty Crisco enters the ducal hall of Yardistan, walking toward the Duke the messenger bows with respect.

Lord Duke of Yardistan, I bring a message of warm tidings and salutations from my master the Count of Monty Crisco. It has come to the notice of my lord that the Duke of Yardistan has been attempting to muster a military force as of late. Knowing the financial burden this can create upon even the mightiest of lords, my master has sent me here with an offer.

Our two great lands could come to an understanding were in we would both strive for the protections of our lands. If Yardistan would agree to help in the protection of Monty Crisco with its military forces, Monty Crisco would provide funds for the creation of those forces and the commitment of Monty Crisco's own forces.

Further more, your enemies would be our enemies as ours shall be yours. This agreement would not require you to pronounce a state of rebellion against your current lord. Merely, that should Monty Crisco require aid, you would provide it, as we shall provide aid in your time of need.

Can such an understanding be reached?

The messenger bowed once more and stepped aside, awaiting word from the Lord of Yardistan.

Kinda circular don't you think? Also I don't think you have to announce the fact you are in rebellion. It just has to be true. Just come out and say it already! "Rebel with me and ill pay you."

Interpret as you will, but I'm not asking him to rebel. And of course it is circular, that's the point. Mutual protection.

The I.R.E. of Lac Glacei owes your brave medics his life, and supports you completely.

The Baron of Absentia opposes this with every fiber of his being.

The Count of Lolz is sleeping! shhhhh

The Barony of Dolor is already in open conflict with the Crown. Any friend of Dolor is an enemy of the Crown and will be dealt with accordingly. Any attempt to interfere with the Crown's operations in Dolor will also be treated as hostile and dealt with.

Not that I'm trying to influence you or anything. :kaiser

The Baron shouts "Long Live the Kaiseress!"

The I.R.E. holds up a picture of Count Erik.

I see that as my right when there are rebels among us.

Interfering in the affairs of subdivisions is a good way to create more rebels.

Now I sorta want to rebel. It sounds like fun.

*the distinctive sliding click of a round being chambered in a pistol is being heard*

You care to repeat what you just said?

Anyway - if anyone wants to rebel why not try it against the gods, revolts against secular authority are old news... :evil

"Now I sorta want to rebel. It sounds like fun."

Looks around.

"Funny for a moment there I had this overwhelming sense that my life was in peril.

Oh wait! There it is again! Wonder what it could be..."

Perhaps it is the urge to build an army and join it with the Duke of Yardistan?

Come on sit down everybody. I've got a large container of rocky road and one of chocolate ripple.

Ice cream solves everything (except when the ice cream truck is shot at).

Then you need an army.
