Well, now that Shireroth is my only citizenship, I should be spending a bit more time here. I want to do something useful, so how about I get Shireroth's sports going, starting with football (or soccer, however you want to call it). First, is the government in general support of such an organizaiton? Second, are there people willing to manage teams (it's not as hard as it sounds)?

I'm afraid I'm a baseball fan, myself. I have occasionally watched soccer, but usually only a couple of world cup games. Sorry.

Well, it's mostly just because it's easier to simulate. I have no way of doing the same with baseball (although it would be easy).

Ok, so let's change this a bit. If there were a general consensus, which sport should I (or whoever) start up here?

I've watched a couple of online soccer games, and the software is amazing. Why not go with that, since it is so realistid. I just don't think I'm the one to be the go-to person for Shireroth. I just don't know or appreciate the game enough. It is still not too big here in the States, except among the kids. It really didn't exist in this country while I was growing up.

Well, it certainly existed in Pennsylvania when my father was young. It's big in pockets around the US, I suppose. It's pretty big here in the northeast.

Anyway, I don't want to do something that won't generate interest. I want to start something people will get into. Something people might actually care about. If there's no interest in a football league, then maybe American football, or hockey, or baseball. I can do just about anything, really.

Pardon me. I guess I am miopic about the sports in this country. In California, where I grew up, I never heard of professional sports beyond American football, baseball, and basketball. We also played volleyball, badminton, dodgeball, tennis, softball, etc. I actually played soccer in school PE and hated it, but I never heard about any professional soccer teams in California. Professional ice hoey didn't come to this state until our 30-year-old was a child, with the Ducks and then the Sharks. (Go, Sharks!) Any sport would be fun to watch in a game format online, but soccer just doesn't happen to be one of my favoroites.

Soccer in school wasn't too bad. You could kick somebody and it "Could be" an accident.

Go for it. I'll root for Jess' team. I'm just not a big sports guy.

I've got to see if I can find Mike Fors. He's tried more than once to get soccer/football going somewhere, but the countries keep drying up on him.
