A request for trade

Greetings, Shirerithians! As Minister of Greed for Nelaga, I come here requesting a trade under the MITO system.

Nelaga would like to offer eighty two units of wheat, nineteen units of mushrooms, twelve units of aluminum chloride, fifty eight units of hovercraft parts, and three units of obsolete medieval weaponry.

In exchange, we want Shireroth to give us sixteen units of pink dye, two hundred units of petroleum, four units of exotic mammals, four units of sundials, and fifteen units of discarded IKEA manuals.

According to my calculations, this deal represents a local optimum in trade possibilities between our two nations as the intersection of our two Mayer curves, and would result in a gain of +24056 erb to Nelaga and +16807 erb to Shireroth.

Thank you for your request, Minister Mayer. As Minister of Trade for Shireroth, I'm very interested in this deal. I just want a few changes:

- Shireroth offers three units of sundials, not four.
- We will give sixteen units of brown die, not pink die.
- We also want nineteen units of comically large shoes.

If these are acceptable to the Nelagan people, we can begin the trade right away.

Excuse me! But as Gralus' representative to MITO, I have some serious objections to this deal. If it went through, it would create a Nelagan monopoly on exotic mammals, which clearly violates Rule 14 of the MITO Constitution and Section 8 of the Small Commonwealth Economics Treaty. The people of Gralus would be forced to pay exorbitant prices for their wombats, baboons, and lemurs.

Unless you agree to provide two units of exotic mammals to Gralus at cost, I will be bringing this trade deal up before the Small Commonwealth Court.

King Andreas of Gralus, you're out of order. As the head of MITO, I can say with confidence that Rule 14 of the constitution does absolutely nothing to prohibit monopolies in the exotic mammal trade. If you have a problem with this trade deal, I urge you to take it up with me personally, instead of bothering Minister Andreas or Minister Andreas about it.
