*starts saving money for whatever happens*

:P

With any luck, I might have not only started learning to drive, but have actually got a licence by then

with my luck, i would continue putting it off and such and continue to not start learning.

I'm smart because I had terrible english teachers and great science teachers :P

thats disturbing, Leo

always new spangle lived in the matrix...

for the time being since we are well in advance of anything, i will side with leghorn on the fact that we should do it in new york, because im not entirely thrilled at spending the ridiculous cost of plane tickets nowadays

People who say they are going to london meet or want to go to london meet:
Dr-spangle
Scott
Ari
Artz
Will Tomsett
andelarion/Ric Lyon
Erik Mortis
Kathbad
Max (depending on date)

People who say they are going to USA meet or want to go to USA meet:
Erik mortis
Malliki Tosha
H4773r 3lfs0n
Gman
Jacobus
Nick leghorn
Kathbad

People who cannot go to either:
Jonas
Max (depending on date)

People who said they might be able to go but didn't specify:
Harvey

Votes are mostly winning on london really, with both more people pretty mnuch certain and more people who want or might be able to go... but we can always have two at once

Please put me down for a USA meet and I second Foghorn's suggestion. Or at least SOMEWHERE in BosWash. And agree that summer would be easier than 24 April.

I may be able to come to an April/Very Early Summer UK or a Summer US meet-up, but I may not be micronational enough for you all...

I might be in for some kind of east coast gathering. I do hate travel and all, but I'm told I need to do more exciting things. Then again, if it's closer to Wash than Bos, all the better. :)

How about:

Date: July 10-11

Locations:
New York City, NY
San Fransisco, CA
London, England
#micronations

Itinerary:
- International chat over Skype between all groups
- Tours around local attractions
- A very, very long trip to the local pub of choice
- [edit] Depending on circumstances, the NY meet may involve a trip to the range...

AS much as I wouldn't mind having to further then SF, splitting the US like that might make the groups to small. I suggest either SF or NY, or somewhere else. But only one.

I've concluded I would need $2,000-$3,000 to do a London meet up this summer. I don';t see that happening sadly. I'd need maybe half that for the East coast. and almost nothing for SF.

Once we get closer to the date, I'd like to run a formal poll asking how many people can go to each location when. Then we can decide whether there's enough for two US ones.

I think it would be nice to see if people like Nick and Renee who live in SF but haven't been so active lately want to celebrate with us, and maybe have a little affair for them (and Hypatia's Mom, if she's well enough by then). It wouldn't have to be instead of an East Coast convention, but it could be in addition to it if enough people were interested.

the going to the range thing makes me sort of (interesting) want to do the NY one more than London, cause it would also be cheaper

its going to set me back around 1500 to do london, but i would love to go; thing is for it to cost that, i need to actually stay for a weekend, and then id have to find something to do, if other micronationalists dont want to do anything for more than one day of stuff

I'd be willing to visit anywhere in the continental US, provided I can get the time off.

I'm in Ca. Where are other US folk located. maybe we can find a central location, or a location with a high concentration. Sonoma has had them in the past due to high concentrations. But I'm the only one left here. Nick is not far, and so is james, Jadie and Zary. Actually a lot of the OLD folk are still in the Bay Area. and SF is rather nice.

Just a two month bump :P

don't want to lose the topic and it's almost next year, where we can start some actual planning.

April holidays for both becca and I are from the 2nd of april until the 18th

Some questions
1)How much is a plane fare from america to london?
2)Would anyone actually be willing to come from america for the meet?
3)Should it be just one day or maybe more? especially for those coming from overseas...
4)how much will it cost for them to stay in the UK? I mean, we have a spare bed here, but there's a travellodge in thrapston (my home town) and if i'm driving by then i could drive them to london :P
5)Who lives in london who could come? can anyone contact ben grey? he's fun :P

I may be attending a Yiddish language-thingy in New York (Catskills, of course!), so there's a distinct possibility I may be around in the US next summer if anyone wants to do an NY meet.
That aside, perhaps this summer meet the Babkhans are organising can turn into a Shirecon UK if we hijack it?
I mean, now that Shireroth has moved from being predominantly Californian-based in terms of citizenship, it's not entirely unreasonable to have a UK based Shirecon as well as the US one.

Except for the fact that it is now probably in Germany... & probably in April...

I would love to visit London, but airfare is simply too high for me to justify it, especially if it's going to be a short event.
