Re: Imperial Decree #382: Imperial Inquisition, etc.
I can assure your Imperial Majesty that the likelihood of any fugitive suspects getting that far is negligible ... Ah. :) The Kalisa is called "The longish arm of the law which we haven't really got written down as such ". We deal out swift justice, or at least in due time, and hard, or at least no...

Ah, another well-organized law enforcement agency. The Cudgellers will be granted the same hospitality, I presume, when pursuing suspects into Shirekeep.

Re: Imperial Decree #382: Imperial Inquisition, etc.
Exactly. Since the Sermolotian Gendarmerie doesn't seem likely to ask for help, I imagine that the II? people will just spy on "political interest groups" and such. I'm editing out the abbreviations since Harvey has a good point. I'll leave that up to Scott.

Re: Imperial Decree #382: Imperial Inquisition, etc.
The Gendarmerie has to cooperate, when needed. Regardless, I imagine the ImIn will keep an extremely low profile in Sermolot since you have such a well developed law enforcement organisation. Maybe a posh office with a couple of Inquisitors drinking coffee and watching tv.

Re: Imperial Decree #382: Imperial Inquisition, etc.
The reason I didn't put this in either the LawBook or the DecreeBook is because I don't know where to put it.

Imperial Decree #382: Imperial Inquisition, etc.
To all Shirerithians, greetings! As you all know, Shireroth has never had an imperial police force. Matters of policing and public safety have always been a matter for the subdivisions. To combat the problem of criminality stretching across subdivisions, as well as supporting those divisions that ha...

Re: Kingdom of Dura
Explain to me how saying "Hey, we recognize you" is more bureaucratic than negotiating and signing a treaty?Jacobus Loki wrote:Efficient, but bureaucratic an no fun.
Yeah, but new countries usually get all excited about there first few treaties. Thus "Treaty-in-a-Can".

Re: Kingdom of Dura
When I was President of Cyberia (the Commonwealth one), I removed the treaty of mutual recognition and just allowed the Minister for the Exterior to make a "statement of recognition" instead. Much more practical and logical.

Re: Kingdom of Dura
I agree with the issue on recognition. It is a view I've held myself for a long time. Merely by speaking to the representative of another nation and referring to that person as "the Minister of Foreign Affairs for ..." or officially referring to a nation as "the Republic of ..." is in a way a granti...

I'm actually more upset that Farah Fawcett died. Michael Jackson died sometime around '95, this thing that lived on was just some sort of demon spawn inhabiting a similar body.

Re: A Big Order: Stock Exchange
Will companies be able to reserve a stock majority for one owner, thereby making it only possible to buy a share of the company, but not take it over? If that is not possible, Lamifo will for example not be traded on this exchange. And as soon as I posted that I realised that I will be owning a majo...

What kind of auction is this? "Dropping out"? Out of the question. A bid is a bid. If you can't match it, that means it's the winning bid.

Yes. You could have it multi-leveled. Kaiser is at the same time Baron and Count, but in another Barony, preferably in another Duchy. :P

Re: Edict XX-3610: Marchioness of Goldshire
The King of Sweden was once a vassal under the Holy Roman Emperor.
I was a vassal before as well, as Baroness of Lakhesis. That happens to all Kaiser/esses that don't hold a duchy, unless they are completely subdivision-less.
